Therefore, we decided to prepare a brief new material in which we show which resources on popular social platforms have more female or male followers.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>The platforms considered are Instagram, YouTube, TikTok. We introduce four additional technical criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 30% of followers must identify their country as Belarus;<\/li>\n<li>There should be more than 50% of female followers or male followers, which allows us to assume that the source has a more characteristically male or female audience;<\/li>\n<li>The sorting is done by the total number of followers;<\/li>\n<li>In each case, 15 sources will be presented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s consider the most popular social platform &#8211; YouTube. On the other hand, almost all channels have significantly fewer subscribers, almost an order of magnitude, than channels with predominantly Belarusian male subscribers. It can be assumed that at the present moment there are no created and developed Belarusian YouTube channels that would be interesting to the female Belarusian internet audience.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s move on to the most popular social network as a source of news and necessary information, Instagram. However, one must remember that followers in this network are the most situational, i.e., unsubscribing is very easy and possibly not the most regular following of favorite accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The data obtained from the analysis of social media show a serious difference in the media consumption of the Belarusian male and female audience. interest. Therefore, we decided to prepare a brief new material in which we show which resources on popular social platforms have more female or male followers.\n\n<hr>\n\nThe platforms considered are Instagram, YouTube, TikTok. We introduce four additional technical criteria:\n<ul>\n \t<li>More than 30% of followers must identify their country as Belarus;<\/li>\n \t<li>There should be more than 50% of female followers or male followers, which allows us to assume that the source has a more characteristically male or female audience;<\/li>\n \t<li>The sorting is done by the total number of followers;<\/li>\n \t<li>In each case, 15 sources will be presented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nFirst, let's consider the most popular social platform - YouTube. As a source of news and necessary information, it was named by 59% of male respondents and 47% of female respondents in the media research \"Media consumption of the Belarusian internet audience at home and abroad, October 2022\".\n\n<strong>YouTube<\/strong>\n\nResources with more than 50% male followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1628\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_youtube_men-900x416.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"416\">\n\nAlmost all resources with a predominantly male audience are news or socio-political. The only exception is the YouTube channel - Kupalaucy.\n\nResources with more than 50% female followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1629\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_youtube_women-900x374.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"374\">\n\nOn the one hand, we see a variety of topics: From the Belarus-1 TV channel to Elizaveta Garus-Taro. On the other hand, almost all channels have significantly fewer subscribers, almost an order of magnitude, than channels with predominantly Belarusian male subscribers. It can be assumed that at the present moment there are no created and developed Belarusian YouTube channels that would be interesting to the female Belarusian internet audience.\n\nLet's move on to the most popular social network as a source of news and necessary information, Instagram. According to the aforementioned study, this source was named by 61% of female respondents and 45% of male respondents.\n\n<strong>Instagram<\/strong>\n\nAccounts with more than 50% male followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1630\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_instagram_men-900x376.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"376\">\n\nHere it is interesting to see how the number of male followers older than 45 falls. With the exception of the \"Minsk Live\" account. There is much more diversity in terms of themes compared to YouTube channels.\n\nAccounts with more than 50% female followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1631\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_instagram_women-900x392.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"392\">\n\nLet's highlight the numerous presence of retail chains specializing in cosmetics, household chemicals, and hygiene products. It is important to note news sources, which confirms quantitative research stating that male audiences prefer YouTube as a news source, while female audiences favor Instagram.\n\nLet's move on to the last of the social media platforms considered - TikTok. Among the Belarusian female audience, it is the second social network as a source of news and necessary information with 48%, overtaking VK.com. And 37% of male respondents also named it as a news source for themselves.\n\n<strong>TikTok<\/strong>\n\nAccounts with more than 50% male followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1634\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_tiktok_men-900x376.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"376\">\n\nAccounts with more than 50% female followers and more than 30% from Belarus:\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1635\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalskills.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/gender_tiktok_women-900x425.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"425\">\n\nFor TikTok, we can note the youngest audience among the considered social media and that while many are pondering how to start working in this network, others have already managed to gather a numerous audience. However, one must remember that followers in this network are the most situational, i.e., unsubscribing is very easy and possibly not the most regular following of favorite accounts.\n\nThe data obtained from the analysis of social media show a serious difference in the media consumption of the Belarusian male and female audience.
